***Unable to find VHS cover and side

Length of film: 79 Minutes

Rated: A

Genre: Drama, Western

Director:  André De Toth

Starring: Randolph Scott, Dolores Dorn, Marie Windsor, Howard Petrie, Harry Antrim

IMDB Rank: 6.6/ 10

Part 1 Time:   44 Minutes

Part 2 Time:   35 Minutes

Where does the first part end? Sheriff Brand (Howard Petrie) and Jim Kipp (Randolph Scott) speak following a close encounter.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “Remember I can’t watch everybody in town,” states Sheriff Brand

First line of dialogue on the second part: “My name is Harrison I’m chairman of the board of alderman and these men are on the committee,” states Harrison (Archie R. Twitchell).

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, although Jim Kipp has a close encounter with the mother of a fugitive, he is able to talk his way out of the confrontation.

Which part is better? Overall, for a B grade western film it is quite an enjoyable watch and the pacing is quick. Part two is given the slight advantage as Jim Kipp (a master of his craft) successfully identifies the three masked men responsible for the armed robbery, an unlikely trio.

Academy Awards: None

  1. I think it would help to specify that this was a 3D film so that people would understand why it’s on here.
