Official Intermission Title Cards

The intermission title card is a cue inputted within a film to indicate to the audience the end of a films act. An official intermission can be determined with either an intermission title card or when the film fades to a black screen for a few seconds (sometimes accompanied by music). Modern day films rarely include a fade to black screen, making intermissions difficult to determine.
