Where does the first part end? Jordan, Donnie, and Rugrat visit a group of French Swiss bankers led by Jean Jacques Sorel. Sorel tells Jordan to get someone to smuggle his money into Switzerland.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: Jordan leaves the meeting thinking to himself. Jordan narrates “He’s telling me to use a fu**ing rat hole, but a U.S. rat hole would never get into Switzerland with all that money, What I needed was a rat hole with a European passport.”

First line of dialogue on the second part:  Jordan travels to England to convince Naomi’s Aunt Emma to take some of his fortune to Switzerland for him. Emma answers the front door “Jordan!”

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, Jordan cannot smuggle the money himself and the audience wonders who he will ask to smuggle the money to Switzerland. This is the hight of Jordan power, once Jordan and Donnie begin smuggling money things begin to go downhill for many members of Stratton Oakmont.

Which part is better?  Due to the craziness, part one gets the edge. It is unbelievable what these characters have experienced, from over drug usage, to crazy parties, to illegal stock exchange dealings. The first part of this film seems unbelievable at times, but then again it is based on the life of Jordan Belfort.
