Where does the first part end?

Theatrical/Director’s Cut: Odysseus (Sean Bean), tries to persuade Archilles (Brad Pitt) to continue fighting for Agamemmon (Brain Cox) against the Trojans. Achilles decides he’s had enough of war and returns to his hut following his conversation with Patroclus (Garrett Hedlund).

Final line of dialogue on the first part:

Theatrical Cut: “Someone has to lose” Archiles speaks to his younger cousin Patroclus, then enters his tent.

Director’s Cut: “We sail in the morning” Archiles shouts aloud then enters his tent.

First line of dialogue on the second part:

Theatrical Cut: “The gods favor our cause.” Advisor speaks to Priam (King of Troy) the following the first battle.

Director’s Cut : “The omens are gathering, the directive is clear” Advisor speaks to Priam (King of Troy) the following the first battle.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Somewhat, the Trojans were able to successfully withstand the first siege attempt on Troy. Agamemmon’s forces are unsure how to proceed, especially if Archiles decides not to continue the fight against Troy.

Which part is better? Both parts include many scenes of action and violence. In part one, the audience is exposed to the first siege attempt on Troy and the motivations of multiple Greeks factions wanting to destroy the Trojans. In terms of development of character relationships, part one is greater. But overall, part two is betterk due to the cunningness of the Greeks and aftermath of the Final siege of Troy.
