Part 1 Time:  149 Minutes

Part 2 Time:  181 Minutes

Where does the first part end? The first part ends with Thanos (Josh Brolin) watching a sunrise on a remote planet.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: There is no dialogue in the final scene with Thanos. The final line of dialogue is spoken by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) who states “Oh God!” while kneeling beside Vison’s (Paul Bettany) body.

First line of dialogue on the second part: “Okay, hold on, don’t shoot;” states Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as he teaches his daughter Lila (Ava Barton) how to shoot a bow.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Jarring, after successfully collecting all six infinity stones, Thanos successfully causes the ‘Blip’ (snapping his fingers while wearing the infinity gauntlet), which randomly exterminates half of all living things in the universe.

Which part is better? Both films are visual masterpieces, incorporating many of the characters and plot lines from the three phases of the Infinity Saga, bringing it all to an epic conclusion. Although the second half of the film brings forth the epic final battle, the first part is superior as Infinity War is much more action packed with each fight scene being purposefully thought out and engaging. In addition, the villain of Thanos is much better in the first part as there is more depth to his character resulting in various perceptions of his morals. Is Thanos a homicidal maniac or was his action a justifiable sacrifice for the betterment of the entire universe.
