Rated: Approved

Genre: Adventure, Romance

Director: Carl Dudley, Richard Goldstone, Francis D. Lyon

Part 2 Time:   59 Minutes (Roadshow: 62 Minutes)

Where does the first part end?  On the island of New Hebrides the Nabus tribe partakes in a folk tradition, where they build a tower 100 feet tall. From here they tie vines to their ankles and jump off the tower.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: No dialogue, the scene shows Nabus tribesmen jumping off the tower with faint chanting in the background.

First line of dialogue on the second part: “In all the day dreams that have ever been dreamed about the South Pacific,” Narrator speaks with an aerial view of the Fijian islands.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, watching the Nabus tribesman jumping off the tower with vines attached to their ankles hurts. The pain these men endure in order to prove they are stronger than the women is insane.

Which part is better? The film is comprised of stories and characters that take place on various Pacific Islands and Oceania. In part one, the adventure begins in Hawaii and travels to Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, and New Hebrides. In part two the adventure continues on to New Zealand and Australia. Apart from the flying through the Southern Alps scene, part two is relatively boring. Part one is better as the audience travels to various islands experiencing various cultures and traditions.
