Where does the first part end? Jagat Janani Sahni (Anushka Sharma) and PK (Aamir Khan) sit on a staircase. Jagat promises to help PK.
Final line of dialogue on the first part: Jagat states “I haven’t figured it out yet, but you’ll go back home, that’s my promise.”
First line of dialogue on the second part: PK awakens in Jagat’s condo and asks Jagat, “What are you goggling at?”
How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, as a journalist Jagat is looking for interesting stories she can present to her news agency. PK’s odd behaviour and interesting takes on human society, such as religion, makes his story worth telling. Will Jagat follow through on her promise to help PK return to his home world or is she only using him to further her career?
Which part is better? The film is quite funny and really challenges our perception of human society, especially on the idea of religion. Part one is better as PK first interacts with society attempting to understand the day-to-day activities of humans. It really makes you wonder why we do such things and how normal everyday activities would seem very odd to other intelligent lifeforms not native to Earth ?
