Where does the first part end? President Franklin D. Roosevelt speaks to the United States congress. Congress members applaud.
Final line of dialogue on the first part: “Because of this unprovoked dastardly attack by Japan. I ask that the Congress declare a state of war” states President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
First line of dialogue on the second part: “Is it true men are still trapped alive inside the Arizona?” President Franklin D. Roosevelt answers to his cabinet as they explain the devastating aftermath of the Pearl Habor attack.
How jarring is it when the first part ends? Jarring, the audience has just experienced over 30 minutes of nonstop destruction and death caused by the Japanese army. How will the United States respond?
Which part is better? Part one is far superior due to the whole attack on Pearl Habor. There is also be a case to be said that the first part could stand as its own movie (with the addition of some aftermath tie-up scenes). The second part focuses on the Tokyo Raid the first major offensive made by the United States during World War Two.
