Where does the first part end? Deandra (Regina Hall) successfully delivers Willa Ferguson (Chase Infiniti) to the Sisters of the Brave Beaver convent. Sister Rochelle (April Grace) speaks with Deandra.
Final line of dialogue on the first part: “I got sick of this shit a long time ago,” states Sister Rochelle (April Grace).
First line of dialogue on the second part: Tim Smith (John Hoogenakker) arrives at Alice More’s (Patricia Ridgely Storm) house. Alice opens the door with a greeting, “Tim!” ‘Hark! the herald angels sing’ is played in the background.
How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal/ Somewhat, Willa Ferguson is safe with the Sisters of the Brave Beaver, but her mother’s past has brought doubts to her true allegiance. Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw (Sean Penn) has gained insight into Willa’s whereabouts and begins his pursuit. Bob (Leonardo DiCaprio) is currently in custody unable to help Willa.
Which part is better? The first half of the film moves at a fast pace and is jumpy at times with many character introductions and unknown character connections. In the second half, these connections become more clear with the film drawing to its epic conclusion. For this reason part two is given a slight advantage.
