Where does the first part end? Avner (Eric Bana) speaks with Louis (Mathieu Amalric) who gives him the name of his next assassination target located in Greece.
Final line of dialogue on the first part: “Of course, safe house.” Louis acknowledges Avner’s request for a safe house.
First line of dialogue on the second part: “Is this Louis’s idea of a joke?” Steve (Daniel Craig) speaks to the group as they arrive at the safe house.
How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, Avner and his group have thus far been successful in assassinating four of the eleven names outlined in the “Wrath of God” operation without any casualties. Will the group continue their success or will they become the target of enemy factions?
Which part is better? Part one documents the events of the Munich Massacre of 1972, resulting in the Israeli operation of the”Wrath of God.” Avner is given a team of four men to lead the operation and are successful in assassinating given targets. In part two, the group faces struggles as they begin feeling the pressure of assassinations as well as the morality of the entire operation. Part two is given the advantage as we see devastating effects the operation has on Avner and the group.
