Where does the first part end? Rumi (Taapsee Pannu) stands outside alone on an empty street and begins to reflect on what her life will be like with either Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan) or Vicky (Vicky Kaushal).

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “I will meet you yet again,” Rumi narrates.

First line of dialogue on the second part: Robbie and Rumi check into The Fern Residency, they have just been married. The hotel clerk greets them, “So Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Bhatia.”

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Somewhat, Rumi is undecided about who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. With her no longer in a relationship with Vicky and backing out of her wedding with Robbie, it is questionable what is next for Rumi?

Which part is better? Part two is notably better as Rumi begins to fall in love with Robbie, subsequently causing a lovers triangle between the three protagonists. Not wanting to make the wrong choice, Rumi has to ultimately decide which of the two men are “husband material.”
