Part 1 Time: 97 Minutes
Part 2 Time: 25 Minutes
***Although this break is satire, it is nevertheless an official intermission.
Where does the first part end? Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) leaves the sound/ directors box.
Final line of dialogue on the first part: “Break a leg, gov. Aw bless ya” Woody (Ethan Lawrence) speaks to Mike Lane.
First line of dialogue on the second part: “I know, I know” Hannah (Juliette Motamed) introduces the final act.
How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, Mike Lane has inserted himself into the production. He will be performing in the next scene. Will Mike’s performance provide the spectacular finish that Maxandra Mendoza (Salma Hayek Pinault) is expecting?
Which part is better? Overall, the film’s plot is simplistic and silly. The intermission serves as a comedic break and is quite random. Part two is given the advantage as we get to see Magic Mike perform one last time, in what could be one of the most challenging dance routines within the elements.
