Jack Lemmon (1925- 2001)

Being one of the greatest actors performing during the baby boomer generation (1946-1964), Jack Lemmon was adept at both comedy and drama roles appealing to a middle-class audience who could generally relate to the anxiety and struggles, in which his character portrayals faced. He has been quoted as being “the most successful tragi-comedian” in the history Hollywood film (The Guardian, 2001) portraying the opposite of ‘cool.’ He has been nominated for a total of 40 major acting titles (the most of any XY actor to date), which includes wins in both leading and supporting acting. Although Jack Lemmon’s name may not garner as much attention as it does other actors from this time in Hollywood, his achievements cannot be overlooked.
