Where does the first part end? Frustrated, and realizing he forgot to perform his pre-race ritual, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) drives recklessly during the Las Vegas Grand Prix resulting in a devastating crash. The screen then fades to black.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “No, No!” Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) reacts following the accident.

First line of dialogue on the second part: Sonny Hayes lies in a hospital bed as Ruben Cervantes stands at his bed side. “Why do we do this?” states Ruben Cervantes.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Jarring, the crash is catastrophic and it is unknown what injuries Sonny has endured as a result.

Which part is better? The cinematography and musical scores are well done in terms of showcasing the excitement and dangers of F1 racing. Part one is somewhat better as the power dynamics between Joshua Pearce and Sonny Hayes are clearly defined and quite entertaining. Part one also encompasses multiple F1 races exhibiting the many strategies used to gain an advantage within an F1 race.
