Where does the first part end? Bill returns home, he finds Alice laughing in her sleep. She awakes from her dream and tells Bill about it.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “That must have been when you woke me up?” Alice speaks tearfully to Bill.

First line of dialogue on the second part: “Oh Shit.” Bill looks at jazz club poster stating that tonights show with Nick Nightingale is cancelled.

 How jarring is it when the first part ends? Somewhat, Bill feels guilty and confused about all that he has witnessed. Alice having told Bill about her dream makes us wonder whether she knows something about that evenings events.

Which part is better? Part two has Bill trying to figure out who this mysterious cult is and whether they are responsible for the disappearance of Nick Nightingale and the death of Mandy. Part two shows us that there are mysterious cult groups that for various reasons do not want to be discovered, and will do anything to stay secret. Part two is given the edge.
