Where does the first part end? Ari (Paul Newman) leaves Kitty (Eva Marie Saint ), he promises to find Dr. Clement (Karen’s father).

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “If I get any word on the girls father, i’ll let you know, Goodbye” Ari states to Kitty as he leaves.

First line of dialogue on the second part: “Kitty” Karen (Jill Haworth) states as she sees Ari.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal , Ari a Haganah rebel continues to support the Jewish states claims given to them by the British government. The tension continue to rise between the Arab and Jewish states for unconditional control over Palestine.

Which part is better? Part two is by far superior as we see how both the Arab and Jewish states cunningly try to outwit each other, either through sabotage or misinformation. The British are unable to support either nations, bring forth unsuitability in the region.
