Where does the first part end? Feyd-Rautha (Austin Butler) has been granted planetary control over Arrakis. A military parade on Giedi Prime follows the ceremony.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “Bring me this Fremen demon,” Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård) asks Feyd-Rautha.

First line of dialogue on the second part: Back on Arrakis, Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin) plays a guitar type instrument while onboard a harvester, “This still suit is full of piss, mine is caked in sand.”

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Somewhat, with the Fremen disrupting spice collection, Baron Harkonnen promotes his nephew Feyd-Rautha to oversee the spice collection on Arrakis. With his new promotion will Feyd-Rautha be able to stop the rebellion of the Fremen and stop Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) from extracting his revenge?

Which part is better? In part one, Paul Atreides and Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) become full-fledged members of the Fremen and begin to partake in spice harvester attacks. In part two, the battle between House Harkonnen and the Fremen for control over Arrakis begins. The advantage goes to part two as we see not only get to see the true intentions of the Emperor in the destruction of House Atreides but also the Chani and Fremen finally joining forces, resulting in a battle of epic proportions.
