Where does the first part end?  Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and Lady Jessica Atreides (Rebecca Ferguson) speak, following Paul’s visions of him working along side with the Chani.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “You can’t know that. I barley know that. It’s only been a few weeks.” Lady Jessica Atreides responds to Paul Atreides.

First line of dialogue on the second part: “Why does the baron need us?” Bashar (Neil Bell) speaking Sardaukar to Piter de Vries (David Dastmalchian) on the Imperial Army Planet Salusa Secundus.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Somewhat, Leto (Oscar Issac) recognizes that his appointment to oversee the planet of Arrakis is a trap of some kind, but cannot refuse the offer by the emperor. Will House Atreides uncover the plot to overthrow them in time? What is the purpose of the visions Paul Atreides keeps having?

Which part is better? Part two is better, as we are able to see the downfall of House Ateides as they are betrayed by the emperor. With nowhere to turn, Paul and Lady Jessica are forced to survive the elements, sand worms, Sardukar, and Fremen on Arrakis.
