The acting greatness of Denzel Washington can be found in his ability to bring depth, intensity, and emotion to straightforward characters, without having to overact (PXR5, 2023). As a result, Washington has had the opportunity to portray top notch performances of numerous historic figures such as Malcolm X, Rubin ‘Hurricane’ Carter, and notorious Harlem gangster Frank Lucas. Washington has won multiple awards for both supporting and lead actor, in addition to currently having the most major acting nominations by a black actor. It is unknown as to why Denzel Washington has not received a BAFTA nomination for his acting. Regardless, Washington has rightfully earned his place among the greatest actors of all-time.
