Where does the first part end? Mayor of Miami Tyrone Smalls speaks to Miami Sharks owner Christina Pagniacci following the final game of the regular season.

Final line of dialogue on the first part: “There goes that black dynasty you promised me, darling.” Mayor Smalls states to Pagniacci in the press box.

First line of dialogue on the second part:  “What’s the matter Steamin? Forgot your invisible juice?” Julian Washington speaks with Willie Beamen in the Sharks locker room following the final season game loss.

How jarring is it when the first part ends? Minimal, at this point in the film we already know the Miami Sharks have qualified for the playoffs, however they have lost their home filed advantage. Many questions circulate around the health of some key players and whether they will be ready for the playoffs.

Which part is better? Part one highlights the high and lows of the Miami sharks’ regular season, while part two focuses on the playoffs. Part one is given a slight edge due to its pace and ability to showcase a variety of possible situations faced by members working within the professional football community, such as, the impacts of winning/losing, questionable judgments on player health, pressures by management/owners, toxic teammate relationships, and strains to personal relationships outside of professional football. Part two also documents these themes, but it feels more rushed and choppy.
