How jarring is it when the first part ends? Jarring, the Earth has been devastated by multiple natural disasters including Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Landslides, Wildfires, and Hurricanes. The only safe location left is China, but for how long?

Which part is better? Part one is better as we are able to see the devastation brought on by the onslaught of natural disasters and the impossible circumstances faced by the characters as they look to survive.
