How jarring is it when the first part ends? None, the documentary is split into various sections highlighting the results of each Olympic event as well as the personal experiences of the athletes who are competing. Each segment could be its own short film as it highlights all aspects of that event.
Which part is better? Both parts of the film are well done and help give perspective on the overall atmosphere XXIIIrd Olympiad hosted by the United States in Los Angeles. The achievements of United States athletes are also highlighted as this is an American feature film. The better part will depend on one’s personal preference of events. However it is suggested that part one is better as it includes the opening ceremony, which provides the audience with a sense of what the Olympics are and how it brings nations together. Other part one highlights include Athletics, Judo, Swimming and Gymnastics.
